Palette Works
Palette Works is led by a working artist and teacher — the person you will be talking to.
Izawa Rei
伊澤 玲
Actor / Teaching Artist
Representative Director, NPO Palette Works
Kokokita Resident Artist (since 2022)
Izawa Rei joined the Kita City Tsuka Kohei Theater Company in February 2006. After the company dissolved in July 2010, Izawa continued at its successor, the nonprofit Kita AKT STAGE, until March 2019 — the year Palette Works was founded.
Alongside performing, Izawa has taught drama to young people since April 2006 — more than a hundred students a year, from preschool age through high school. Current teaching includes coaching junior high and high school drama clubs in Kita City, Bunkyo City and Kawaguchi in Saitama; running drama workshops for elementary school teachers in Adachi City and for junior high school teachers in Bunkyo City; teaching visiting workshops at a public elementary school in Bunkyo City; and teaching drama within a moral education program for ninth graders at a private junior high school in Kita City.
Since April 2022, Izawa has been a resident artist at Kokokita, the arts facility in Kita City, as part of its third cohort.
